月牙泉是敦煌最近的旅游景区。

月牙泉位于甘肃省敦煌市城南五公里，占地面积三百平方公里，包括鸣沙山，其山东西长四十公里，南北宽二十公里，主峰海拔一千七百米。月牙泉处于鸣沙山环抱之中，其形似一弯新月而得名。
